Separation

I was scared my mum and dad would split,
I thought I would get sad.
I thought I’d cry and be upset,
But it’s really not that bad.
I still feel safe and wanted,
Mum and dad are always near.
They do everything to protect me,
And I know they are always here.
They say divorce is difficult,
But I think it just depends.
I’m lucky to be surrounded,
by my family and friends.
Mum and dad don’t have to worry
I know things will work out.
Their separation taught me,
what love is all about.
