Sparks and embers in front of your eyes
The heat from the blaze and the fire lies
The way it pulls you in, to your demise
As the flames engulf your paradise.
And the inferno spreads
Not allowing time to catch your breath
The sparks arise from the heart of town
Everything in their path, burnt down.
The skies turn dark and the clouds are grey
Not with thunder nor the rain
But with smoke and fumes and burning pain
As the lives perish and the stories fade.
With flares, the sky lights up
One last spark of courage
A fading ember of hope
Amidst the ravaging flames
