Restful Melody

The sky melts
carelessly flooding the valley
Filling my wellington boots with muddy water,
Soaking my bouncy locks-
causing them to droop like the branches of a faint willow tree.
Although the gentle pitter...patter sound of the rain forms a restful melody.
I stagger through piles of wet leaves-
panting, trembling
I struggle to see through the darkness,
All hope is lost-
and all direction
I consider giving up-
lying here in the crisp weather, waiting for someone to come to my rescue
pitter...patter
I then remember my family,
disturbed by my absence, restless
So I continue my journey home
