A daddy's love

Her cradle is empty, still and cold;
Her father looks up to see she’s grown old.
Inside he feels proud, but also sorrow;
For she’s there today, but what about tomorrow.
Every step forward there’s a step in reverse;
Which step should she take, is she under a curse?
But then she remembers her daddy’s loving smile;
She takes the right step, it’s like switching a dial.
Within every girl there’s something that no one can see;
It’s the love that we share, just my daddy and me.
