1st in the 'Play On Words 2021' competition

It was extremely late on a Friday night.
I was having a sleepover with Norm.
We were watching a movie at twelve,
When, oh no, there was a storm.

We quickly turned off our frightening flick,
And rushed up to our beds.
We slammed the bedroom door shut,
And put the blanket over our heads.

There we stayed, still and quiet,
I’m sure my face was very pale.
Then there was a thumping on the roof,
Why now, there was hail.

A loud noise cut over the thunder,
The deafening sound was absurd.
I looked over at the other bed,
It was Norm’s snoring that I heard.
