Finalist in the 'Play On Words 2021' competition

The moon was shining in the sky,
Spotty, my dog was feeling shy.
The stars were twinkling above me,
We rowed our canoe to the deep black sea.
I saw an ice berg ahead of us,
We tried to escape without a fuss.
Too late, we crashed onto the ice,
Spotty feared like a pack of mice.
We climbed onto the icy shore,
Hoping that we wouldn’t fall.
Spotty looked out for a rescue team,
Suddenly we saw some smoky steam.
A ship appeared out of the blue,
We got rescued by Captain Sue.
The night ended with a happy smile,
But we won’t reach home for another mile.
