Falling
I slip on my Nike’s and head out the door
As I strut down the streets I have a great FALL!
I quickly get up and brush off my shoulders
I OWN THESE STREETS, THE TREES AND THE BOULDERS!
I’m almost at school when I realise
I FORGOT MY HOMEWORK, and I REALLY CAN'T TELL ANYMORE LIES!
I sprint past bob the boulder and teetee the tree
Screaming and tripping “MUM OPEN THE DOOR, PLEASE!”
I check the time and OH NO I’M LATE!
I forget my homework and work up up my pace
Sprinting and running not looking at all
I work up my legs and that when I FALL!
This time I wait for someone to come
I wait until the sky turns as dark as a plum
I’ve taught myself a lesson, a very important one
When I forget my homework DO NOT RUN!
