Warm Alienation

Have you ever been underwater? When your back is to the seafloor,
And your eyes are observing upwards and outwards,
Yet most definitely not interfering.
While your body is using what’s left of its air,
Expecting another breath to replenish itself
But
You
Stay
There
The movements of water engulf any noise before it reaches your ears.
Your mind is overcome with a sense of relief that comes with warm alienation, so
You
Just
Lie
There
That’s when I’m most at peace
