The Haunted House (Adaptation)

The night was cold and rainy, with a strong breeze sweeping the rain across the landscape. Amongst the dark sky lightning and thunder raged furiously.
Chad, Clive, and Tyler a trio formed in the quest of searching for the lost treasure, a fortune rumoured so vast it could last generations in riches.
Pushing the heavily rusted gates, it’s rust cutting Tyler’s hand.
Even though the boys could feel the unevenness of the old, cobbled path beneath them, they were smooth in contrast to the crunching of dead leaves.
One lonely tree stood near the house, swaying in the breeze, whispering to its surroundings. As the house drew nearer everything around them became quieter and more distant. The trees whispers couldn’t be heard anymore, and the cold iron gates were far, back in the distance.
All that stood was a door Infront.
From the outside, the house was tall and thin, made from large pieces of black stone that had a rough texture, sandwiched together by crumbling cement.

The three boys entered through the creaky door.
As Chad went inside, he felt a gentle breath over his shoulder, Tyler’s mouth became dry with fear and Clive’s body shivered.
The hallway was dull and smelt of dusty air mixed with mildew. Paintings hung up of what looked to be inhabitant of the house, their eyes followed the trio’s my every move. To the left was an old wooden stairway leading upwards to the second floor.
Even after looking through each crevasse, every little opening discontent and frustration filled amongst their hearts.

As time passed Tyler exclaimed, “there is something here.” Chad and Clive mustering whatever energy they had left and came over. As drowsiness began to sweep upon Clive, he leans against a bookshelf. Clive screaming “Ahh!” Both boys Tyler and Chad turned frantically and without a single thought followed Clive
The entrance to the secret tunnel.
As they rolled down uncontrollably astonishment filled their mind.
The explorers went inside the cave where zombies slowly began to emerge and within seconds a stampede of mutant-zombies were heading towards them. Chills went down Chad’s spine. Tyler began to ponder at why this cave was hidden.
Adrenaline began to course through their veins and began running for their dear life.

Little did they know of what they had to face next.
The walls had started crashing at each other. Clive screamed at the top of his lungs for “help!” when he saw a big sandstorm was rampaging towards them. Chad, Clive, and Tyler engulfed by sand. Chad managed to weave out the sand, taking a huge breath but his team-mates were still stuck. Chad screamed! “Where are you?” He heard Tyler screaming and got him out. Clive was the only one missing. Eventually, Chad and Tyler managed to rescue Sam.
A sense of content filled their heart. Eventually, Clive noticed a golden glare he grabbed both explorers. They began to sprint towards the glare and what they witnessed could never be fulfilled with words…
