2nd in the 'Unleashed 2022' competition
Barnacles will emerge from the clamours
Of the crest and the trough
With the intoxication of a siren's liquor and booze.
…Oh, intoxicating siren, how dare you make us yearn-
We will lament the lingers of a never-ending end,
‘Till the tide comes back down and beckons
For the spumes of a red-haired dagger.
…Oh, intoxicating siren, for those moments of loving hatred-
We will once again embrace each other as sickly deaf lovers,
Watching the angels who don upon these glass shard skies,
And the secret silent Lucifer who lurks in the much deeper.
…Oh, intoxicating siren, who entices us with our final meadow wasteland-
We will cascade from the ringing waltz with Odysseus’ ears,
'Till the passing of cannibalistic angels
With honey-hooked talons and slit-off tongues,
As we once again just mingle with the crest and the trough of booze.
