If all the world were fire - a raging land of flame -
We shall thrust our souls into the heat -
To be torched, incinerated but never a broken shame.
Like the making of a sword - our smoking blades flashing -
We shall emerge from the fiery ashes -
Braver - Stronger - more Powerful than ever.
It’s easy to imagine an idealized world - with no pain or sadness.
But if not for the tears - how could we cherish the smiles?
If not for defeat - how could we enjoy the glory of victory?
If not for hatred - how could we truly understand love?
If not for the hardships - the torment - sacrifices, and pain -
How could we be we -
Without the things that make us human?
So let the fire rage on -
Engulf our very souls from head to toe -
Let it make us…or destroy us.
