From dawn till dusk, he toils with might
His hands are rough, his back is sore
But he bears it all with noble light
For his family, he'll do anything, this is sure

A hardworking father, proud and true
He ne'er complains, but simply gets the job done
He is the glue that holds his family anew
The one we turn to when the day is won

He's not perfect, mistakes he may make
But his love and effort are always true
In times of heartache, he is the heart that does not break
The one we turn to, our troubles to eschew

A hero in his own, quiet way
He is the one we lean on, day after day
We may not say it oft, but it's true
We love and appreciate all he does, and more, too
