Ode To Ballet

At the age of 3, my first day at ballet,
Happy, Joyful, Euphoric
A small portion of what I feel
As I float across the floor

A piece of cake it is not
Like falling down a mountain
I try again, I tumble down
I feel like I want to quit

But when I fall down, I get up again
Believing, trying, accomplishing
My goals are still nowhere in sight,
But I will not give up

My very first eisteddfod, scared, petrified, alarmed
Finally the music finishes with a bang, followed by roaring applause
There’s one thing that I can take from this,
Boys can dance ballet
