The bright sun shines down
On her soft fur crown
Slinking through the thick, long grass,
She does not allow a single bird to pass.
As the sun climbed up to the middle of the sky,
She heard another’s dastardly war cry.
Launching herself high off of the ground,
She ran up a nearby tree, looked down and frowned.
At the pesky, offending intruder,
Who really couldn’t have been ruder.
As the sun sunk down below,
On her tired whiskers the sun began to glow.
For she had been called to come home and eat
So on the laundry room floor she rested her weary feet
And as she rested at her cozy, happy home,
She flopped down and thought “another day done”.
