Excellence Award in the 'Summertime Fun ONLINE' competition

As unnerving darkness cautiously crept in on this fateful day
And sweetness of dusk evanesced as it yielded to a scene yet to unfold
Starless empyrean warned of a sombre and inauspicious moment.
Inevitable was a tussle between the moon and sun as both geared up
Bereft of an arbitrator, palpable fear of the unknown was imagined.
The grim stare of the hooded moon was rather fierce, and
Its dim light oozed invincible doom to the sky and its subjects.
The waters reflected an iniquitous and monstrous image of the sky
As the orb of the night pompously exudes preponderant power.
Suddenly, a crack in the cloudy sky made way for a golden disc;
The daystar appeared from the horizon with warm beams.
Its bright radiance hovered the valleys, hills, and mountains;
Radiating quanta of supremacy and tolerance; terrific pedagogical!
A moment of reckoning as the moon retreated behind the scenes
As tumultuous cheers of relief echoed from far and wide;
Yet, many continue to question the quintessence of co-existence.
