The sky flickers with an unearthly light
Gently rocking, upon my boat, I lay
Shooting stars streak across the plain of night
Arrows soaring towards the coming day.
The lucent moon gazes down from its perch
Its dappled face in the sky outshines all
The glistening stars, around it, converge
The majesty of the scene inspires awe.
The lake patiently observes the vista
Reflecting the scenery overhead,
I touch the water’s façade like crystal
Ripples across the second night sky spread.
Slowly, the ripples spread out and surcease
The world is once again still and at peace.
