A lustrous crescent moon sets the inky sky ablaze,
Casting a haunting glow upon the pearl-grey sea
Mirrored upon the water; a gleaming silver sliver,
Accompanied by a scattering of stars.
The sea is vast; a fierce and fathomless mass;
Alive and impulsive; a wild, tempestuous beast
White-crested waves surge towards the shore;
A rhythm resounding in the still of the night.
The salty spray burns my lungs; igniting me from within,
An icy, rushing wind whips across my moonlit face
Adrenaline courses like liquid fire through my veins,
The desire to plunge into the depths is electrifying.
I am lost in the wild and raw beauty of the scene:
An infinite, raging abyss of ancient secrets
Compelling waters, free from the rigid grip of timeā¦
What an enticing enigma is the night sea!
