Staring down at the bowl of rice
you realise that it won’t suffice
the urge for more creeps up your spine
and you conclude that this is not fine
as the clock ticks by
and the ones around you die
your endless desire intensifies
and nothing ever satisfies
to all; now it is apparent
of your unruly talent
they strive to pacify your needs
but you are consistent with your pleads
you only yearn for more and more
never stopping to think of the poor
and only now do you realise
that these earthly cravings are all but lies
