Like a charging bull it hit the shores, Boxing Day last year,
a plague of crying faces, despair, pain and fear.
The media got wind of it and the word soon spread,
of that vicious wall of water that left so many dead.
Out of the blue, literally, the evil figure glistened,
the animals ran for the hills but the people didn’t listen.
And while the surging current was still cruelly swelling,
white water claws snatched away dwelling after dwelling.
Brave warriors of charity came to help the upturned land,
countries donated billions to lend a helping hand.
Although it’s hard see the good in this ferocious weather,
in its wake, the world now seems a little closer together.
