My earliest memories are like a misty fog
Except for those that are of my dog
When I first got him he was fluffy, blue and cute
You should see him now, he is such a big brute
His name is Rex and he is fun
All he does is run, run, run
I taught him tricks like sit and stay
But all he wants to do is play
We like to play tug-o-war
And he never really is a bore
It doesn't matter if I'm down and blue
He always knows just what to do
A gentle nudge with a soft damp snout
Gives me time to think and chill out
He is my dog and he's not for lend
Because he really is a girl's best friend.
