Uncle Peter

My Uncle Pete was a funny guy
And he definately wasn’t shy
He had short curly hair
And wasn’t greedy - he’d always share

Well that’s what our dad would tell me and my brother
Cause he passed away before we all got together

He’s buried in Broken Hill
And we still think of him and always will
And it’s sad when a family member passes away
In fact I’ve got something to say

My uncle Pete will be in my heart
And there’s nothing any one can do to make us part
And although we never met Uncle Pete
His love is with us forever to keep.

And when it’s his birthday we’ll have a drink
Although that day our hearts will sink.
