Thick black clouds and spinning umbrellas
Shuffling feet on pavement of stone
Rain falling on beveled rooftops
People sigh and hurry home
No one wants to be outside in the rain.
Safely inside the people wait
For the drops to cease their fall
Tensions rise and boredom pervades
As there’s nothing to do at all
No one wants to be outside in the rain.
Outside a pretty girl in red
Is seen dancing in the street
Inside the people shake their heads
Because she smiles as she moves her feet
She delights to be outside in the rain.
