Old Life

I look at my life.
I think I haven't lived.
I look again, I'm sure.
For a lot of people are like me,
because I am very poor.
I'm dressed in rags and all alone.

I have a wooden house, but it is very small.
I walk all my life down to the carstop and back to my rusty house.
At least I'm not dead,
so that is a good thing.

I have a friend.
His name is Jimmy.
He lives in a flat and soon I'm going to sell my old rusty house and move in with him.
He's got a very modern flat
- two rooms, one kitchen, one toilet and, of course, a small loungeroom.

He has a painting on his wall.
It's by Picasso!
Everytime I look in that man's eyes (on the painting) he seems to always stare back at me and say good things are going to happen to me like winning the Lotto and getting the jackpot.
But I'm never very sure that it's me saying it in my mind or it's actually happening.

Oh, did I mention that Jimmy works in the bank.
He's not the person who zaps your credit card.
He's one of those bosses, managers.
I guess you could say he could be the owner of it.
Anyway, back to me .....

Right now, telling you this story
I'm walking through the woods.
It's about 7 to 8 o'clock,
But I don't know because I don't have a watch.
Jimmy only gives me about $2 for cleaning his driveway.

So anyway, there's a lot of trees around me,
crows dive at me everytime I jog along.
Luckily, I got away.
I duck to miss them.
