I started to have strange behavior
So my mother took me to Dr. Savior
The doctor watched me read book after book
As he watched, he shook.
The doctor said I had a strange disease,
Then he said, "let me study her, pretty please.
I have a name for this sickness
That we doctors find mysterious.
It's called reading fever,
and we're happy to say eventually it'll leaev her."
"Finally," my mom said. "She reads in her free time,
Instead of playing with weird things like slime."
My mom continued "why, doctor, why?
Just when her IQ was getting so high!"
Finally reading fever went away
And most of my intelligence went the same way.
My mom's still upset, but I wish it went away sooner.
Then again, you don't know what's right around the corner!
