Like days the years go in my mind,
The memories evanescent.
But for now I can catch the flashes and,
Play them over and over again.
I'd remember when we used to play,
When we’d wrestle and laugh until,
The whole world turned to watch us play,
Our sweet and sublime game.
And when we learnt, all by ourselves,
The greatest lesson of life.
We learnt it over and over again,
Until we could laugh no more.
Do you remember, now that you’re leaving,
Do you remember those days gone by?
And when you’re gone, will you remember,
When we were together, you and I?
