Back In the Day

Back in the day when the cannons roared,
And the eagles soared.

Back in the day when we were covered in dust,
And going to school was a must.

Back in the day when we didn’t have cars,
And we all thought we were being invaded by aliens from Mars.

Back in the day when candy was cheap.
Back in the day when our daddies raised sheep.

Back in the day when the forests were lush.
Back in the day when babies would hush.

Many things have gone on in our past,
And I’m surprised anyone's been able to last.
