Of evil and good

I have seen the effects of evil
I have witnessed its destructive power
It consumes everything
and none can flee from its path
It will seek its prey
and drain it in its unrelenting grasp
It is too strong for human might
It is too cunning for our finite wisdom
It will deceive all
and then betray its followers
A life of sin is futile
and ignorant pride gives no hope
Evil will corrupt what is good
and will destroy what is already weak
Is there anything at all
that can save us from our vanity
that can save us from this worldwide
plague
Who shall stand before us
Who is worthy to meet its match
How can one combat evil yet not be
tempted by its lies
Whoever can eradicate its tentacles is
worthy of our praise
Blessed be the Savior of the human race
The One who sacrificed much
in order to gain all
His power is great
and has crushed all wickedness
Once we accept His authority
and ask His forgiveness, we can
finally be saved
How can one reject a gift such as this
when his very life is what is at
stake?
I have seen the effects of righteousness
I have witnessed its redeeming power
To all those who love God
He will always bless
To all those who reject Him
evil will always find
