A Brewing Storm

Late one summer night
A storm began to brew
Hard raindrops crash against a timber roof
Waking the farmer’s cattle
Hard raindrops plop on the wet road
Washing away all the dirt
Men at sea
Their screams get lost
People blinded by the rain
Devastating winds
Knock down an old shed
Soon everything is quiet
People come out of their homes
The storm is over
The storm is over
