One Wednesday the children came to play,
For the circus was coming on that day.
Susie got up, and jumped out of bed,
She woke up Johnny and Uncle Ted.
They got there at about half past nine,
And someone announced there had been a crime.
People came in from here and there,
For a lion has been stolen with golden hair!
They looked in the bushes and looked all around,
But the stolen lion could not be found.
The time was ticking; the time had past,
It is now time to go, at last.
But it wasn’t finished for Susie, Johnny and Ted,
“We’ll find the lion then go to bed.”
They looked up and looked around,
And finally the lion was found!
