The wild waves are tossing and dancing,
like a herd of angry mares prancing.
The devilish waters, blue and white,
thrash around in the clear moonlight.
While I sit here beside my camp,
the blazing moon is like a lamp.
The wind howls its mournful song,
voices call me all night long.
The crabs come out to dance in the dark,
the seagull are screaming hark, hark.
The rain stabs hard onto the sand,
the lightning lights up all the land.
I will never forget that one night,
that haunting memory of nature’s fright.
