3rd in the 'Watch Out! 2000' competition
Sam and I are joined together by a love so strong,
No one understood taking us apart would be so wrong.
We are two and two together as we ride along the lane,
Memories of timeless fun fills my heart with pain.
I’d rather have my Sammy than a feisty Arab mare,
I’ll think about him always and I’m sure he knows I care.
No other horse can take his place not now or for a lifetime,
Stealing my affections like he did would be undoubtedly the worst crime.
Now that we are far apart I dream and I am sure,
In many many years to come I know we will meet once more.
We won’t have changed from way back then, he’s still as white as white,
I’d saddle him up and off we’d prance to dance upon the light….
