3rd in the 'Watch Out! 2000' competition
The land is dry, the sun is out
Nothing grows there is a drought
The sound of water disappears
There is not water for us to hear
The crops are gone, food is low
More is needed, but too dry to sow
The sound of thunder fills the sky
We see lightning way up high
Rain explodes upon the ground
Oh how we love to hear that sound
The rain is back, all is right
The sound continues into the night.
