White is the colour of the moon at night,
White is the colour of a blinding light.
It’s that original colour of a house ceiling,
And that strange moment of a blank feeling.
It’s a blowing fan or an egg in a pan,
And the colour of a person without a tan.
It’s that beautiful taste of creamy milk,
And that great feeling of luscious silk.
White is the colour of a cold bite,
White is the colour of a sudden fright.
It’s that beautiful pure beach sand,
And that wrinkly waterlogged slippery hand.
It’s that feeling you get with a shocked look,
And the stiffly starched hat worn by a cook.
White is the colour of a glistening pearl,
And the creamy taste of a white chocolate curl.
