2nd in the 'Believe It Or Not 2001' competition
What’s lying beyond that deep, dark reef,
All pink and green and blue,
Gliding near the sandy beach,
Covered in seaweed goo?
Jumping, splashing,
Glimmering, shimmering,
Excitedly chattering too.
Lurking, sneaking,
Frightfully hunting,
Doing what they do.
The dolphin leaps up to the sky,
Great white hauls in its food.
The octopus using its tentacles to bind,
Hoping for tea-time soon.
What’s lying beyond that deep, dark reef?
Silvery plants bloom.
The shiny massive Great Barrier Reef,
Mysterious to me and you.
