It may be dark but I still see
Ominous shadows unfold to me
Primal fear deceives my sight
Insidious eyes bring spectral fright
The shadows tease and trick my mind
I feel the anguish of the blind.

All around me ghostly figures loom
Scornful laughter in the gloom
I yield to my inevitable plight
I run away, my eyes shut tight.

Cowering in a corner, forlorn
Waiting for the sanctuary of dawn
To invoke forth empyrean light
And banish the spirit of the night.
