We were aiming for glory as we pulled in the port
The Germans covered the daylight
Showering us in bullets
Surrounded by death
And knowing I was soon to follow
This was an ever-ending massacre
Almost certain there was no chance of survival
We were prepared for war
Not this
It was Hell on earth
It was war
