Owls are hooting, dogs are howling,
Somewhere in the city a cat is yowling,
Garbage cans clatter with the gentlest breeze,
Doors are being opened with the tinkle of keys,
People coming home to their dimly lit houses,
After being out for hours and hours,
Shadows are playing Darkness Street,
Dancing and running across the grey concrete,
They party all night until dawn starts breaking,
Now they must hide as the people are waking,
The people of Albany emerge from their homes,
Unaware of the shadows hiding in their garden gnomes,
They go out for the day and come back late,
Ten they go to sleep and will not wake,
Once again the shadows come out to play,
They will not stop until the break of day.
