Such atrocities go unobserved by all lest one counts the bird
Who squawks to all ignorant ears and continues ignored
With the painful knowledge: they hear
But do not respond, only walk
Faster, swifter? They’ve all to be somewhere…
Talking into imaginary machines - So small you cannot see
So inane they mustn’t exist
In the sweating grip of plastic greed
Riding bareback on the unstoppable steed of Evolution
All the way to a solution
Faster, swifter;
To the white-dead-end
Of retirement, of disease, of death. Of emotion?
Lost in shades of steel and blonde
…But hiding in between black leaves
Music can be heard
