The retired soldier has seen much in his life,
friends fall victim to the power of the steel bullet.
Their torn bodies finally give up,
at the hands of their enemy,
unyielding war that can destroy life in an instance.
He never sleeps much these days,
for he is cursed with the images of death, blood, pain and torture.
They haunt him like a ghost of memory.
All he can do now is wait for death to snatch him off this Earth.
Yet he is wise in spirit and mind,
for the stories he tells could never seem possible to us,
the things he has seen will always stay with him,
til death do us part.
