Words can't quite comprehend,
Look to the stars for answers and all you'll find is emptiness.
The realisation of our insignificance
I've opened my eyes to a brand new day,
But everything once so luminous, is now stone washed grey,
Much like the smog shielding your blackened eyes.
The only burden I bear is one of understanding.
I'm seeing through perfect vision, and it's not a pretty sight.
I can't even reach for God from under these lonely street lights.
No complaints; just total recognition.
We're all born to die and die we shall.
So pull your hands from your eyes,
And stand beside me on this shore of reckoning.
Throw your hopes and dreams into the reversing tide,
Because you don't mean shit.
No bias hidden in my words,
No intention to hurt,
No cause for disaster,
Just total understanding.
