3rd in the 'Empowered 2008' competition
The leaves cool against my smooth skin
Rustling in the gentle breeze;
Leaking from the trees, amber jewel-like tree blood
Capturing sun beams.
Swirling water, the laughter of birds soaring away up a tree.
Curled sea-bleached fingers of the driftwood arch,
Through and through, through and through the tangle
Many strange creatures march.
Round the ring, round the ring, round the ring at night,
Touching every flower bed, faeries softly tread.
Fluttering down, soft against my face, fluffy balls of golden-yellow wattle;
Peace and harmony surround every tree.
Let only gentle harmless things creep in my green world.
