As my feet walk across the green crop,
I watch the kangaroos jump over the big fences.
A baby bird flies over my head,
It is going to its high nest in the tree.
Cows chewing on the luscious grass,
Other cows going to the market.
Kids are patting the dogs,
Some are patting, others just watching.
Toddlers covered in gray dust,
From playing in the sheering shed.
Kangaroos jump over the pens,
I can still feel the rustling of the green crop.
I see a sheep stuck in the fence,
It is a big fat ram.
A woolly lamb gets out of the paddock,
Then it goes back in.
I take my feet out of the crop.
I can still feel the wind rushing through my toes,
I can smell the smoke from dad’s motor bike.
I go back to the house for a sleep,
Because mum said so.
But I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon to see more on the farm.
