Today’s the day to go to war, to keep this country free
Death and sadness, its shadow lurks over me
As I journey on the train I’m trembling with fear
No one to support me- just a single drop of tear
I leave this place it used to be home
The train starts its engine, and I am all alone
All the men wave to their wives,
As they stare out the shield of glass
Look at their enchanted expression
Mines harder than copper or brass
We go into a tunnel its long and pitch dark
All we here is the train; not even a single bark
I know that I cannot stay
But what journey awaits me this next day?
