The clouds were dripping, tears the day, when baby roo got swept away.
His mum stood on the river bank, at 1st she thought her baby sank. But no, intead the baby joey was swept into an awful tide & landed on the other side.
The narrow distance seemed so long because the currents swift so strong. They could stand, stare & shiver across the flooded river floor, & all the while my soul was aching to see those gentle hearts that were breaking.
The mother roo took one great leap across the creek, that wasn't so deep, then she & baby hopped away & everything was a-okay.
