Once Loved

I'm the ashes from the fire,
Whilst you’re the red hot flame,
My heartbreaks your desire,
Am I the only one to blame?
Lost without each other,
Like a sailor sick at sea,
Together like baby and mother,
You completed me.
The leaf was then flipped over,
The spring flowers no longer bloomed,
Like a wife who had lost her drover,
The wind changed, my heart now doomed.
We live, we die but what’s important is the middle,
We hope, we cry, heartbreak hurts too much,
Love can be cruel or kind or just a twisted riddle,
You found me, you loved me then left without your touch.
