Rainforest Trek

The leaves were thick and droopy,
As I blindly trekked across the dense rainforest terrain.
It really wasn’t that spooky,
Until it started to rain.
The booming thunder, the howling wind,
The drops of rain on my helmet made a loud ding.
My vision was blurring, my sight nearly gone,
But then I felt something that felt like my lawn.
It was frizzy and large and warm to touch.
I saw what I thought to be two arms and legs.
I must be going crazy; something’s messing with my head
But then I saw two eyes, this was all too much
I turned to run, but I slipped in some mush.
Head first I went into the brownish scum.
I said my last words, and all in a rush,
The thing in one gulp ate me up. Yum! Yum!
