Many Things- For My Mother

There are many things about my life that people do not know,
many emotions hidden away that I will never show,
many memories I wish to forget, but forever they will linger,
many dreams I tried to grasp, but they slipped right through my fingers,
many things i've witnessed, that I wish i'd never seen,
many places I got taken, where i wish i'd never been,
There are many things I learnt, I wish were never taught,
many times I got knocked down, many times I fought,
many times you held me close, many times you pushed me away,
many times you kicked me out then pleaded with me to stay,
for many years i've wondered why I should cop this pain,
when you should have known to give me up before you chose my name.
