Taking turns
Bathing the world with a radiant glow,
Her eternal light is never shining low.
She waits patiently for her cue,
Then takes flight in a cloak of a magical hue,
She puts on the most enchanting show.
As her luminous shine slowly fades,
Like the pitch black chariot of Hades,
A new light begins to appear,
The now evanescent moon begins to clear.
She flees, as the sky turns a different shade.
Her archrival, the glittering sun,
Begins to have his share of the glorious fun,
Of racing hastily across the sky,
Above all creatures whether they swim or fly,
Look! He's gone - the moon's turn has begun.
