3rd in the 'Calling All Poets 2007' competition
Late at night when it's pitch black on the beach
I can hear her gallop, her breath and speed charging toward me
The Black Stallion
She glides silently through the cold night air
And utters a sudden sigh
The mysterious hose is quite close
I can feel her beautiful body, strong and tense moving toward me
Maybe she's feeling the sadness love destroyed
The Black Stallion
As I feel her slender face touch mine
I sense calmness like I've never felt before
As the bright moon shines on her dark coat
She frantically runs into the glimmering water and disappears
I feel a warm tear fall as she fades away from my memories
I will never forget
That Black Stallion
