I was sitting on my stupendous front porch because I was waiting for the mail, which was suppose to come very early in the morning, but it didn’t. Ok, so let me tell you about myself. My name is John. I am lame. (I was innocently shot in the leg when I was fighting in a war.) I’ve witnessed lots of battle sights. And, Oh, here comes the mailman now. “Hello John.” Called the mailman. “I have a letter for you.” I waited for the mailman to reach me, and then I took the letter. I Limped inside, and sat on the chair in the living room and opened it. As I read the letter my face brightened up. It read:
Come to the Birthday of the queen.
At her castle.
All who attend will get 10 pieces of gold.
As I read the time I pondered the date. I turned the letter over which reveled the date. It is today! I quickly grabbed my brown cane, because I need it. And started out. “At this rate I will never make it.” I worried. I limped on. I could not spot the castle. Then someone bumped into me. I fell down with a “Bump” and a loud “CLATTER!” from my cane. The man who was standing above me looked at me with horror. “So you’re blind too.” He remarked. “Uh, No. ”was my reply.
“Old?”
“NO I’M NOT!” I shouted I knew I should not of screamed. But I did. “I am lame. I said, not screaming this time. “And you?”
“I am blind.”
“Oh” I was wondered where this blind man was going all by himself with no help. To my surprise, he asked, “Well, Where are you going?” I didn’t know what to say. “To a birthday party,” was my brilliant reply.
“Who’s?” He yapped. Now I knew from the start that this person was going to be trouble but not so demanding. So I figured that sense he could not see me I might be able to get away. I started to get up when the man stopped me. “Are you going to the queen’s Splendid Birthday party?” I was stumped. “Uh, Yes.” I replied slowly. “Because I am and I will never get there at this rate.” He told me. “Maybe we could help each other. You can climb on my back, and I’ll carry you as long as you be my eyes. And we will get there Together. ”I quickly agreed and we started off. We got there just as the party was starting. When the Queen heard how we had got there she gave us 20 pieces of gold (each)
And that is how we were rewarded for working together.
